LOVE is the first joint exhibition project by the artistic duo Matěj Hrbek and Alessandra Svatek.

Matěj Hrbek is a sculptor and draftsman known for his mythical worlds, and Alessandra Svatek is a conceptual artist whose practice moves between ecology, street art, and tattooing. Together they describe the project as “an exhibition with absolutely crazy subject matter: love that is reciprocated.”
Rather than presenting a romantic idyll, LOVE offers an honest and at times self-ironic account of what happens when two independent artistic worlds meet, overlap, and become intertwined. The artists imagine themselves as two stars moving toward a collision, creating something new through the force of that encounter.
At its core, LOVE explores intimacy, partnership, individuality, and the ways two people can influence one another without losing their own identities.
The exhibition looks at love not simply as an emotion, but as an ongoing process of understanding, reflection, care, and negotiation. Through their individual and shared works, Hrbek and Svatek examine what it means to build a relationship while remaining two autonomous creative personalities.
Visitors can see drawings, sculptures, and paintings created by Matěj Hrbek and Alessandra Svatek. Through both individual and shared works, the exhibition brings their distinct artistic approaches into dialogue and shows what can emerge when two creative worlds meet.
The exhibition develops Artium’s 2026 program, the theme of responsibility.
Here responsibility is understood as an essential part of sustaining and developing love. It includes responsibility for one’s own mental well-being, sensitivity toward another person, and care for the shared path two people choose to take together.
Visitors are invited to consider the “benefits of a stellar collision” through the individual works on display. At the same time, the exhibition offers an opportunity for a more personal journey. By comparing the artists’ experiences with their own, visitors may find new ways to understand, describe, and reflect on what love means in their own lives.
The exhibition LOVE is curated by Matěj Hrbek and runs from August 6 through October 15, 2026 at Artium by KKCG.
Earlier this year, Artium presented Miroslava Klesalová with the exhibition: Step from Darkness and Kateřina Šťastná with: Intervals of Presence. The final exhibition in this year’s program will feature designers Petra Švejdarová and Klára Vaculíková, who work together under the name PRASKLO.
The admission to all exhibitions are free, thanks to the support of Artium’s founders and patrons: Karel and Štěpánka Komárek.
