Innovation takes centre stage at Artium by KKCG with the opening of Anywhere Between Black and White, a joint exhibition by Filip Švehla and Martin Moflár. As part of Artium’s 2025 cultural programme, Lines of Innovation, the exhibition challenges the boundaries between colour, light, and space and redefines how we experience visual art in a public, architectural environment.
Both artists bring a global perspective to their work. Martin Moflár, a Slovak master of large-format abstraction, has exhibited internationally, yet remains a rare presence in the Czech art scene. Filip Švehla, a Czech painter known for his exploration of rhythm, space, and colour, draws inspiration from residencies in cities such as Valencia, Miami, and New York. Together, they represent two distinct yet complementary voices in contemporary abstract art.
Set within Artium’s glass-enclosed lobby in the mixed-use office building of the KKCG Group, the exhibition creates a striking dialogue between colour, architecture, and natural light. Monumental canvases and translucent collages are suspended in space, allowing sunlight to become part of the composition. This interaction transforms the viewing experience into something immersive and dynamic, always changing with the day.
"Both exhibiting artists, Martin Moflár and Filip Švehla, have long been devoted to colour. They are so fascinated by shades that they liberate them from their relationship to real-world objects. In this way, they allow colours to appear in rhythms, surfaces, curves, and proportions. Although their inspirations are often the same—ranging from Mark Rothko and Barnet Newman to Elsworth Kelly— each works with colour through a different medium and from a different starting point. That’s why we decided to prepare this joint exhibition for Artium— to let the colours play out in different forms."
More than an art gallery, Artium by KKCG functions as a cultural hub. Open to the public and situated within the headquarters of a global investment and innovation group, it invites communities, passers-by, and professionals to engage with art in unexpected ways. By introducing artistic innovation into a shared, everyday space, Artium reimagines what a cultural institution can be and creates room for new ways of seeing.
The exhibition runs from 30 April to 30 September 2025. Admission is free.

Artium is an unconventional, freely accessible cultural space located within the headquarters of the KKCG investment and innovation group. Designed as a meeting point between art and the everyday, it brings together different worlds, opens new horizons, and connects often separate spheres of creativity through thoughtfully curated experiences. In collaboration with leading curators, Artium presents a multi-genre artistic programme built on four dramaturgical pillars: visual arts, music, performing arts, and education.
Karel Komárek, founder of the KKCG Group, together with his wife Štěpánka, created this inspiring space as part of their long-term commitment to supporting culture and community life. Thanks to their vision and continued support, Artium by KKCG has become a vibrant cultural hub that invites the public to engage with art in an open and accessible setting. Here, the worlds of art, design, and music come together to offer unexpected encounters and unforgettable experiences.
In 2025, Artium’s curatorial focus is innovation. This theme is explored openly, across artistic disciplines, and from multiple perspectives, encouraging dialogue between tradition and experimentation, form and idea, artist and audience.
