Roman is rather the occasional gambler. A difference of opinions between him and his wife gave the most recent occasion. "It was a blessing in disguise. I had had a fight with the wife, and told myself, well, I'll try my luck at the numbers. And lo and behold, it worked in my favour", says Roman from the Beroun district, who won CZK 1,811,925 in the Sportka lottery.
Roman V., a 32-year old, buys lottery tickets three times a month, at the tobacconist or at a filling station, always picking his numbers at random. These numbers came up for him at the 1st Sportka draw on Sunday, though Roman would only find out on Monday afternoon when he checked the results over the internet at work. "When I found out that I had won almost two million, an indescribable feeling washed over me. I was in a state similar to a heart attack, pressure, shivering. My colleague at work almost called an ambulance, as she did not know what was the matter with me", recounts Roman with a relieved smile.
It didn't take Roman and his wife long to make up their mind how to put the windfall to good use: pay off the mortgage, buy a small new car, and keep a nest egg. "It is a huge relief, happiness, and feeling of calm. We settle our entire debt and can start with a fresh slate, and with some starting capital to boot. You know what's really awesome, though? You no longer have to worry, for instance, whether you can afford to take sick leave when you're ill", adds a visibly content Roman.
Millionaire Roman will be a special guest at the extra Sportka draw on Friday, 14 November 2014.
