MND strengthens the team to implement the new strategy

MND Group reacts to current market situation impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic, the long-term fall in oil prices, and the increasing trend in the European Union towards renewable sources and carbon footprint minimisation technology. MND management is working on a new strategy to ensure long-term efficiency and sustainability in surveying and mining, as well as development in the group’s other business areas. MND is making a number of organisational changes with the goal of creating and implementing the new strategy.

At MND Group level, Miroslav Jestřabík and Jiří Ječmen joined the board of directors of the holding company, MND Group. Executive management will also be strengthened: from 1 September 2020 the newly created position of Group Executive Director will be filled by Jiří Ječmen. Three separate divisions will also be created within MND, a.s. as of the same date – Surveying and Mining, Retail, and Trading. The Surveying and Mining division will be headed by Jana Hamršmídová, the current director of Geology. The newly created Retail and Trading divisions will be headed by the current directors of the departments, Lukáš Pokrupa and Martin Pich.

“In strengthening the competencies of the divisional heads we express our trust in the team, from whom we expect fulfilment of the new strategy and creative, efficient management,” says Karel Komárek, chairman of the board of directors of MND a.s. According to Komárek, the main intention is to ensure the stability and long-term future of all companies within the MND Group. This must be founded on, on the one hand, the optimisation and development of current, promising business activities, and on the other, steps leading to the search for and development of new business to supplement and possibly replace some current activities.

As part of the reorganisation, the position of general director of MND, a.s. will be abolished as of 31 August 2020. Up until now the position has been occupied by Mr Zbyněk Parma, who will leave the group. “We thank Zbyněk for his many years of valuable work for MND, and wish him all the best for the future,” said Komárek.
