EUR 30.9 Million Invested in Restoring Tornado-Damaged Hodonín

The City of Hodonín and the Karel Komárek Family Foundation (KKFF) have marked the completion of the five-year restoration of Bažantnice with the official opening of Park U Červených domků. Investment in the transformation of the damaged public space exceeded three quarters of a billion Czech crowns, approximately EUR 30.9 million.

„The way Hodonín’s public space has been restored is entirely unique and perfectly aligns with our thinking and the way we work as a foundation. From the very beginning, the new buildings and parks have been driven by an effort to view the disaster and its destructive consequences as an opportunity to deliver innovative projects in Hodonín with a positive impact on the lives of people across the entire region. The city built on our approach and tackled the projects conceptually, with a long‑term vision and the determination to secure additional financial resources. That is why we were able to make the most of this opportunity.“
