Diverse fields of business

Energy Sources

With its traditional focus on oil and natural gas exploration, MND has rapidly evolved to meet the energy demands of the 21st century in recent years. MND sees strong potential in geothermal energy, and is intensely investing in renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. Our largest current project in the renewables sphere is the construction of the Oriv wind power plant in Ukraine.

Trade

MND Energie

MND is one of the fastest growing new suppliers in the Czech energy market. In ten years it has built a strong brand that stands on its fairness and reliability. By extracting its own gas and monitoring prices on the wholesale market, MND Trading can provide customers with long-term value for money. As a result, it is now one of the largest energy commodity traders in the country.

MND Trading

At the same time, MND Trading is a major European player in the gas storage capacity market, and trades commodities such as gas, electricity, oil, coal and CO2 allowances while dynamically expanding its geographical scope.

Drilling and Services

A leading drilling contractor with international operations in several European countries, providing traditional drilling and equipping services for oil and gas exploration, production wells and underground gas storage wells. In recent years, has expanded further in geothermal energy production, including drilling a 4500m geothermal well for the EDEN project in Cornwall, UK.

Energy Storage

MND has been building and operating storage tanks since 1999, now with a storage capacity in excess of 500 million m³, including some of the most advanced and flexible storage facilities in Europe.

With an emphasis on innovation, this includes reservoirs capable of storing hydrogen in admixture with natural gas up to 5%H2 from 2021, thereby storing transformed electricity.
